Serving the humanitarian industry for more than 40 years, NRS International has risen from humble beginnings to become the global industry leader that it is today.

Sheikh Muhammad Sarwar founds the business to sell canvas in a retail unit in Pakistan, which quickly grows to provide canvas in large volumes.

H. Sheikh Noor-ud-Din & Sons Pvt. Ltd (HSNDS), the first manufacturing plant in Lahore, Pakistan, opens to produce high quality tents, canvas, canvas tarpaulins and other allied products.

HSNDS started supplying tents to the United Nations during the Iran-Iraq war, where thousands sought refuge in Pakistan.

HSNDS wins the Best Export Performance Award from the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Since then, HSNDS has won 20 of these awards.

NRS International’s headquarters opens in Dubai, UAE, to manage logistics, sales and marketing operations and to allow rapid response and better service to our clients. In this year, plastic tarpaulin production also starts at the HSNDS factory.

NRS International establishes the Bilqees Sarwar Foundation, a family run charity that is committed to providing quality health care and education to community members in Pakistan and beyond.

The inauguration of the Bilqees Sarwar Hospital takes place in Lahore, a free community hospital where all HSNDS staff receive free medical care.

NRS International expands its facilities in Pakistan to produce long-lasting insecticidal nets after acquiring TANA Netting, the mosquito-netting experts.

NRS International joins UN Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, and promises to uphold universal principles on human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption.

NRS International launches its core relief and shelter sales division, NRS Relief. NRS International becomes the parent company of three subsidiaries: NRS Relief, TANA Netting and Flexiway Solar Solutions.
Enlight is introduced as the solar brand of NRS Relief, aspiring to create a brighter future for people who do not have access to reliable electricity. From entry level lights and multipurpose lamps to solar home systems, Enlight products bring light, connectivity and opportunity to households, communities and businesses.

NRS International launches the production of nets ‘Made in Nigeria’, a country that carries almost 30% of the global malaria burden. We operate a long-lasting insecticidal net (LLIN) manufacturing facility in Aba as part of our commitment to localize production in malarious regions.
