Subsidiary TANA Netting introduces new-generation DawaPlus® 3.0 and 4.0 mosquito nets

Building on the tried and tested success of its existing DawaPlus® products, our subsidiary TANA Netting proudly introduces its latest product innovations – the DawaPlus® 3.0 and DawaPlus® 4.0 co-insecticide long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs).

As one of the world’s largest suppliers of WHO pre-qualified LLINs, TANA Netting has extensively collaborated across the private and public sectors, with academia, and with the beneficiaries themselves. The new DawaPlus® 3.0 and DawaPlus® 4.0 products directly address challenges currently being faced in the fight against malaria and other vector-borne diseases.

The new-generation LLINs

TANA Netting’s DawaPlus® 3.0 and DawaPlus® 4.0  use proprietary dual-insecticide release technology to improve nets efficacy. Designed specifically for regions in which mosquitoes have developed metabolic resistance to pyrethroid insecticides, the Piperonyl butoxide (PBO) co-insecticide helps to suppress the resistance mechanism, allowing the insecticide to be recover its efficacy. PBO is incorporated into the netting, which acts alongside the deltamethrin. The PBO is a co-insecticide, considerably enhancing the effectiveness of the primary insecticide, here deltamethrin, by suppressing the mosquito’s enzyme defenses. Each yarn is optimized to release either PBO or deltamethrin. This ensures a proper ratio of the co-insecticide and the primary insecticide during the lifetime of the net.

  • DawaPlus® 3.0 incorporates this advanced netting into the roof of the net, with the sides of deltamethrin coated polyester.
  • DawaPlus® 4.0, on the other hand, incorporates the advanced netting into the entire net, providing the maximum level of protection.
